Beaches and Sunsets

We went to the beach today and took a little dip in the Mediterranean Sea. Vernazza has a small patch of beach, and I saw children and a few adults using it. However, we traveled by train to Montorosa, only a 4 minute train ride, and we were treated to a charming beach experience.   There is no sand….mostly just rocks and stones, but the water was clean and had that beautiful bluegreen color. Actually, Montorosa is the only one of the five Cinque Terre towns that has what could be called a real beach. Some parts of the beach are private, and some parts are public. Here’s what an afternoon at the beach looks like here.

Catch the train and then some shade.

You can jump in if you want.

Or just find a good spot.

The stony shoreline gets very hot, but once the sun starts to go down, things start to cool off. The sunsets are beautiful.
