Parisians love modern art. Every fall the city hosts a comprehensive exhibit of modern art called International Contemporary Art Fair or FIAC for short. The exhibit is housed in the Grand Palais. The Grand Palais is a work of art all by itself. From the outside, the building looks as its name implies, a grand palace. But once you are indoors, the space surpasses its name. Go inside and prepare to be amazed. The ceilings reach skyward and are topped with spined windows that allow light to enter the halls below. Look up and you will see the French flag flying proudly.
A splendid staircase flows from one level to another.
The hall is divided into mini galleries holding the best that the modern world of art has to offer.
There was something for everyone, even me. Along with many other women, I was drawn to the exhibit pictured.
Many women stopped to take a picture with this piece.

I found this “WOMAN” theme repeated around Paris. Passing another gallery, I found this live model standing extraordinarily still, but making a loud statement about women nonetheless.
