Moving Out, Moving In, and Moving On

There’s only one way my traveling companion and I could be more excited about our Paris junket and that would be to move out of our little neighborhood hotel and move into our next home away from home aboard the S.S. Joie De Vivre. This river cruiser is taking us from Paris to Normandy and back, with numerous stops along the way. We are moving on!

The ship has many exciting features like fabulous rooms all done up in the most stimulating colors.

Spacious hallways leading to the eerily lit pool.

An impressive staircase and chandelier. Note the unicorn.

A wonderful lounge space for happy hours and evening entertainment.

Oh, could that be Bruce dancing?

Many activities. You can even take cooking lessons and learn a thing or two. Here’s my traveling companion, dressed for the chef’s event. Very cute.

The table is set. The ingredients assembled.

Our chef gives instructions.

We eat and drink.

And eat….the foie gras

And eat some more.

Not done yet.

Always standing by to fill a glass. All quite wonderful and decadent.

But by far, the most impressive feature was the endless supply of gummy bears available all day, every day.

So, au revoir, Paris. Time to wave so long to the Eiffel Tower and the Little Sister. What will tomorrow hold? Love, the Unseasoned Traveler.

  2. Your cruise much more deleux than mine on the Rhine. Delicious food and wine but not so gourmet. No grand stairs and no unicorn. Loved being right in the middle of things and water level was fun view except when we docked and suddenly our room went dark.

  7. I’m not sure exactly why but this website is loading incredibly slow for me. Is anyone else having this problem or is it a issue on my end? I’ll check back later and see if the problem still exists.
