We headed to a spot above Firenze to admire the panoramic view of the city we have been calling home for almost three weeks. Just when we thought we had seen every possible beautiful perspective, another crosses the path of the camera. Here’s the early morning view for today. The weather is overcast, but the city is still magical.
See the dome to the right? There is a villa that once belonged to the famous Medici family sitting on the very far left of the photo. The Arno River flows down the middle. The river water is brown due to the rain. The Ponte Vecchio bridge crosses the river. It was the only bridge (out of five ancient bridges) not destroyed during WW II.
Better sighting of the dome.
Across the river.
One of the new bridges. Perhaps there will be sun later today.
Sunshine looks promising….Ciao from the Unseasoned Traveler.
matches our morning skies, views are much more spectacular!
