One Foot In Front Of The Other

I started this junket a long time ago, six weeks ago, in fact. Along with Ashleigh, I have seen and done some wonderful things.

I’ve had a chance to experience a chilly April day in Paris.

And see this beautiful sight just days before the tragic fire.

I’ve sailed on a empress that had a prince of a captain.

We looked for Heidi and her grandfather,

and almost found them.

We have seen the home of Camus

and the art studio of Paul Cezanne.

I love how we have kept I touch with our old friends

and, perhaps, made some new ones…proving what I continue to believe…that we all are more alike than we are different.

We continued our tradition of noticing dogs and cats…some touchable and some not so much.

Don’t let me forget!!! My brave daughter, Ashleigh, rented a car and tried her hand at driving in Europe. Being successful at this one thing has forever changed how she and I see travel. Moving forward, the world is really ours.

This morning, I squeezed this,

and very little came out. In addition, my battery operated toothbrush has become a manually operated one. It is time to go home. I want to take a moment thank my supportive husband, Bruce for his delight at and interest in every story I told about my junkets. There are not enough words to thank my traveling buddy, Ashleigh Henry. For the second year in a row, she has taken time from her busy life to go junketing with her mom. Finally, thanks to all of you out there who also came along with me. Knowing you are along is a big part of the fun of the junket. Indeed, it is time to return home, but also time to plan the next big adventure. When I visited Speyer, I was inspired by the statue of a pilgrim that stands in the town. I like how he strides out… one foot in front of the other.

Look for me next time in my memories …..Love, The Unseasoned Traveler
